She's on the run from her cruel cousin, hiding as a maid for the powerful Earl...
“What's wrong with her?”
The housekeeper hovered behind the handsome stranger who held Addie in his lap.
The doctor. Of course. Addie had heard Mrs. Harper send for a doctor just before she’d fainted.
Mrs. Harper hurried off to fetch her water, and Addie found herself alone. With a strange man.
He smoothed back her hair, concern softening his stern features. “Have they been working you so very hard, little one?”
Little one. She was hardly a child. She was a grown woman—and a servant in this home.
“Please, I must get back to—” She stopped when he reached for her hand.
His brow furrowed as he studied her palm and then her fingers.
“What are you—” Her protest ended in a gasp as his eyes shot up to meet hers.
Gone was any warmth or tenderness. Instead, those dark eyes blazed with accusation. “You are not a servant.”
Fear surged as understanding dawned. Her hands were soft and white—the hands of a lady, not a maid.
“Who are you?” he demanded.
She jerked her fingers out of his grasp and scrambled onto her knees in a panic. But the room spun, and a sob escaped before she could stop it.
A warm, strong hand cupped her cheek as he wiped away her tears.
“You are not a servant,” he said again, this time not as an accusation but as a fact.
“Please, don’t tell Mrs. Harper,” she begged.
His eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“She’ll tell the Earl, and he will toss me out and—” She reached for his hands without thinking. “Please. I promise you I meant no harm. I will learn to be a good servant, and—”
“Here we are!” Mrs. Harper’s voice reached them from the stairs. “And I’ve brought the doctor as well.”
“Where is my patient?” The jovial male voice followed from the landing below.
Addie’s lips parted. The doctor. But if that man coming up the stairs was the doctor, then who—
“Addie will be in good hands now, my lord,” Mrs. Harper said.
Addie’s heart flipped and her lungs hitched.
My lord. She’d called him my lord.
Oh no, no, no.
This could not be happening.

~*~Excerpt from The Misplaced Miss Eloise ~*~
When a notorious rake discovers a thief in his home…
“Stop right there, thief.”
Alex peered into the shadows of his study. The intruder was…a woman?
He lowered his weapon, and moved to light a candle.
“Please don’t,” the woman said softly.
No, politely. Her tone was as even and mild as if they were taking tea in the parlor.
He had an image of the stunningly beautiful young lady he’d held in his arms earlier that night at the ball. The dutiful debutante who’s smile never faltered—not even when she was dancing with her brother’s notoriously wicked best friend.
No. It couldn’t possibly be her.
He stepped forward, lifted the candle, and— “Eloise?”
“It’s Miss Haverford, if you please.” She smoothed her hands over her skirts.
He cleared his throat, amusement and horror battling it out now that shock was waning.
He shouldn’t be amused. This was not amusing. If they were discovered together...
If anyone knew that she was here, in his home. Alone.
Horror won the battle handily. “Eloise, what are you doing here?”
Silence.
His addled brain tried to come up with an excuse for her. It came up frighteningly blank. But truly...
Miss Eloise Haverford. Diamond of the first water. Belle of the blasted ball. His uncle’s bride-to-be. And—oh, curse it all.
His best friend’s sweet little sister.
Which meant, of course, she was his responsibility.
He ran a hand through his hair. “Why aren’t you safely tucked in bed getting some rest before your wedding day?”
Even in the candlelight, he saw her go pale. He also saw her shiver. “You’re freezing.”
Another shiver made her teeth chatter, and Alex scooped her up into his arms.
She clutched his shirt. “W-where are you taking me?”
“To the parlor. There’s a fire still going in there.”
She fit neatly against his chest, and he was all too aware that she was only clad in the same thin gown and slippers she’d worn to the ball.
He set her down by the fire. She looked smaller and more delicate than ever as she wrapped her arms around herself, her lips trembling as she stared down into the flames.
He had so many questions, but all he could focus on was how fragile she looked. How vulnerable.
His voice came out too gruff. “Are you hungry?”
She shook her head as she sank into the seat gracefully, spreading her skirts out to dry.
Because they were wet. Because...
“You walked here,” he said, stating the obvious. “Alone.”
She flinched but didn’t deny it.
He raked a hand through his hair as a surge of protective anger hit him square in the chest. In the course of one heartbeat his mind came up with a hundred different ways she might have been harmed on that short walk.
The thought of her hurt or mistreated…
His heart gave a painful lurch and a growl escaped.
Unacceptable.

The Misadventures of Miss Adelaide
She's on the run from her cruel guardian...
And Miss Adelaide has found the perfect hiding spot in the home of the formidable Earl of Tolston. But masquerading as a maid comes at a cost. One day Addie faints on the job, and wakes...she's in the arms of the Earl.
Her secrets about to be exposed, Addie wants nothing more than to flee—again. But the powerful, overprotective Earl with dark, brooding eyes makes it very clear that she's his to protect.
The Misunderstanding of Miss Louisa:
When the Marquess comes to court her sister, Louisa has one job...
To stay out of trouble, and remain out of sight. She's failing spectacularly.
But Louisa never expects the irritatingly charming Marquess to find her dancing alone in the moonlight, or that he'll be the one to catch her when she falls out of a window attempting to be unseen. And the more the Marquess tries to draw her out of her sister's shadow, the more clear it becomes. It's not just her reputation that's in trouble . . . it's her heart.
The Miseducation of Miss Delilah:
Is he her kidnapper...or her hero?
Delilah always knew she'd marry someone rich and powerful, but she never imagined she'd be engaged to the man her friends call 'Lord Evil.'
She's certain they're exaggerating the danger she's in...until she slips away during her engagement party and finds herself held captive by a terrifying brute. Trembling in terror in his arms, she tells the stranger to take whatever he wants, just let her go. But the beast growls in her ear, "I'm not here for your jewels, princess. I'm here for you..."
The Misgivings About Miss Prudence:
The bane of her existence is now her private tutor...
Miss Prudence has worked diligently to become the perfect wife for the lord she's meant to marry. There's only one flaw left—music.
But when her aunt hires the handsome lord next door to help, Prudence's quest for perfection is ruined. How is the dutiful debutante expected to survive music lessons when her tutor is the boy who'd teased her mercilessly as a child? And now he's at it again. Poking fun and provoking her into rash actions. Except, he's no longer a boy. He's very much a man. And it's not his pranks that make her heart race...It's his kisses.
The Mistletoe Mistake of Miss Grayson:
Everyone knows the headmistress is destined to be a spinster. Well . . . everyone but the Marquess of Ainsley.
The Marquess isn't certain why the elegant and resourceful Miss Grayson is so determined to remain unmarried. But he means to change her mind over the holidays.
How will he coax the refined beauty out of her shell? It will take a Christmas miracle—of the mistletoe variety.
The Mischievous Miss Charlotte:
She's falling for the one man she's sworn to hate...
Miss Charlotte despises the man she's supposed to marry. Of course, she hasn't actually met the Earl's son, but from the letters they've exchanged, he's exactly the sort of overbearing brute she can't stand.
Not at all like that handsome, witty, romantic stranger she met at the bookshop. She agrees to meet this intriguing stranger in the garden at midnight, not realizing that the man she's agreed to meet...is the same man she's vowed to hate.
The Misguided Miss Mary:
Her sworn enemy may have come to her rescue, but that doesn't mean she has to like him...
Surely Lord Paul is teasing Mary yet again when he suggests that they marry for convenience. The childhood enemies have never been able to be in the same room together without tempers flaring. How could they possibly be married?
But when Lord Paul comes to her rescue and saves Mary from near scandal, she may have no choice but to accept his hand. Which is awful. Obviously. Although...now that they're older, the tension between them isn't quite the same. And his kiss sparks an entirely new sort of heat. It makes one think, perhaps a lady could get used to kissing her arch nemesis...
The Misplaced Miss Eloise:
When the dutiful debutante stows away in a rake's carriage...
Eloise flees her wedding to a cruel groom in a moment of sheer panic. She's certain her brother's best friend, the notorious Lord Wycliffe, is already out of town when she sneaks into his home. But the famed rake catches her rifling through his desk in search of coin. Of course his loyalty is to his best friend, and he insists on seeing her home.
But really, if Eloise is anything, it's underestimated. So when he leaves her at her doorstep, she feigns a tearful smile as she waves farewell. And then she stows away in his carriage just before he leaves for his journey to the coast.
It's too late to turn back by the time he discovers her. But now that she's under his protection, it's shockingly clear that he'll do anything to keep her safe.
Even if it means marrying her himself.
The Mysterious Miss Lydia:
When the dashing spy finds the painfully shy wallflower alone in the library...
Miss Lydia has been mistaken for many things. A part of the draperies, for example. And once...a potted fern. But she's never been mistaken for a spy before. Until now.
But now a ridiculously handsome Viscount has come in her life, who's as cryptic as he is charming. And he seems intent on wooing the world's most timid wallflower. But Lydia's surprised to discover that...perhaps she's not as timid as she'd believed. In fact, her heart races with excitement as she's dragged headfirst into the dashing Lord's world of adventure.
And when this game of espionage involves stolen kisses and a midnight rendezvous in the garden, Lydia experiences the sort of dizzying romance she's only read about.
But when truths come to light and true identities are revealed, will this newfound love all turn out to be mere fiction?
The Misfortunate Miss Farthington:
The scandalous daughter of an Earl has ruined her chances for a good match...
Her reputation tarnished and her prospects all but gone, the School of Charm's headmistress has nothing left to lose. At least, that's what Miss Farthington believed. But now she's being pursued by a man as charming as he is clever, and she's realized that she was wrong.
She still has something very dear left to lose...her heart.
